Now that most of us are enjoying warmer weather and longer days, this is the perfect time to turn to bright, fresh wines for springtime sipping. Here are five Napa Green certified wines you should try this spring. Whether you prefer red or white, there’s something for everyone.
2020 Napa Valley Estate Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon blanc is a must-have in your white wine collection this spring. This refreshing sauvignon blanc offers powerful green lime and grapefruit notes aromas combined with fresh fennel and caper. All the grapes are grown on St. Supéry’s Dollarhide Ranch and the wine is made to preserve its freshness and vibrancy. The winery’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the vineyard to its community and even the oceans, highlighting the importance of sustainable seafood and encouraging thoughtfulness of what is in your glass and on your plate. In gratitude to the community members who came to their aid during the 2020 fires, St. Supéry will donate $5 from each bottle of their 2020 Napa Valley Estate Sauvignon Blanc to the Napa Valley Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund.
2019 Napa Valley Estate Moscato
This bright and opulent wine has pronounced sweet floral aromas of mandarin and peach blossom with marmalade and orange zest. Moscato’s sweetness and lower alcohol content make it a perfect choice for sipping poolside or it can be enjoyed with appetizers, sweet brunch dishes or fruit-based desserts. St. Supéry’s Estate Chef likes to pair it with biscuits topped with peach preserves sourced from heirloom peaches that grow not far from the muscat canelli grapes at their Dollarhide Ranch. For moscato lovers, the winery offers a moscato-only wine club with 3 seasonal shipments to keep you stocked up all year round.
2019 Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc
St. Supéry Estate first planted sauvignon blanc in 1983 and has been a champion of the grape ever since. Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is a beautiful expression of the estate, showcasing aromas and flavors of lemon, key lime and grapefruit and kiwi. A portion was aged in French oak for five months, lending a subtle toasty quality and an appealing textured mouthfeel. Just the right amount of crisp acidity makes it a natural match for soft cheeses, salads, sustainable seafood and more.
2019 Napa Valley Estate Virtú
Virtú is an artful blend of sauvignon blanc and sémillon, sourced exclusively from St. Supéry’s Dollarhide Ranch. The winemakers vinify the lots separately in a combination of stainless steel tank, French oak barrels and concrete vessels, offering a variety of options for blending. The resulting complex wine exhibits great texture and flavors of kumquat, lemongrass, grapefruit zest, and dried peaches with a hint of creamy, toasted oak. On your next trip to Napa Valley, make an appointment to try the pairings with Seafood Bites + Seasonal Veggies, an experience your taste buds will thank you for.
2015 Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
This deep, dark wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and sourced entirely from the Dollarhide Estate Vineyard which sits at 600 – 1100 feet in the northeastern corner of Napa Valley. Aged exclusively in French oak barrels, the ripe black plum, currant, blackberry, anise and espresso flavors and aromas make it an ideal match for grilled meats or hard cheeses. Try this wine in the 5 Bordeaux Tasting experience, offered virtually or in person.
